I met a girl when I worked as a pediatric cardiologist at PICU in the summer of 2008. She was a newborn baby, only 13 days old. She needed emergency heart surgery because she had congenital heart disease. However, the surgery could not be performed soon because of her bad condition such as like severe infection and heart failure. I was her attending physician. I prayed for her recovery day and night while I treated her as much as possible. Her condition improved after one month, and she was operated on. I was moved by her recovery when she was discharged. Since then, I believe in the power of human vitality and the power of medical teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I caught a call from the baby’s mother in the summer of 2022. It was an unexpected call. It’s been a long time since I did the surgery, but I was reminded of her through that phone call. The mother asked me to check her child’s heart condition from now on. According to her story, she had looked for me for a long time because I was the attending physician of her child. I was surprised to hear the news. I was touched that my past dedication had brought me happiness. I thought I should continue being diligent in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
